CYCLE FOR SAM (Afghanistan)
Whilst
stationed in Afghanistan the officers and men of 2 Royal
Irish IMJIN Company were so moved by Sam’s story that
they got on their bikes in the searing 45 degree heat of
the desert to cycle the 6000km distance from Camp
Bastion to Ballymena in order to raise funds for the
charity. The miles were steadily whittled down by these
dedicated soldiers on their exercise bike in their
makeshift camp gym.
A cheque for £4000 was presented by Sgt Gary Wilkins at the medals parade in Hillsborough on 11th October. READ MORE »
