SPIN FOR SAM

November 28th - QUB Physical Education Centre (PEC) Belfast

Take part in a sponsored spin - a 12 hour period of spinning on a supplied stationary bicycle in which you can choose to spin for as long as you wish,although a minimum time of 1 hour is a fixed rule. 7am to 7pm is the period.

Attending at any time between 7am & 7pm is permitted although we currently need to fill numbers for 9am to 11am and 2pm to 3pm.

£10  fee for each rider.

 

BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S FUNDRAISING THEME NIGHT

Malone Lodge Hotel has kindly nominated SAM to be the beneficiary of their Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme night on Saturday 24th January 2009.

A must for fans of all things glamorous, details of the event are being kept under close wraps.

Suffice to say that it will be a night to remember.

GET YOUR POSH GEAR ON FOR SAM!  THE EMERALD BALL

SAM's key fundraising event for 2009, the “Emerald Ball”, will be taking place on 14th March 2009 at the Europa Hotel.

The HOTHOUSE FLOWERS will be headlining the evening’s entertainment and the event will be hosted by Jimmy Nesbitt and Emma-Louise Johnston. There will be also be a guest star appearance from a popular comedian, and we have some totally spectacular and original prizes up for grabs in our charity auction!

Tickets for the event are priced at £1100 for a table of 10, or £120 for a single ticket.

PLEASE JUMP FOR SAM!

We need jumpers – and not the woolly kind! Would you like to throw yourself out of a perfectly good plane to help us raise funds for research into muscular dystrophy?

Jumping from 13,000 feet you have 45 seconds of freefall before the chute is inflated!! For all you adrenalin junkies this will thrill you to the max!

Jumpers must be aged between 16 and 80 and there is a weight limit of 15 stone for men and 13 for women.

Each jumper will be asked for a commitment fee of £40 (non-refundable). The cost of the jump is £200 so we request a minimum sponsorship of £350 (in the hope that people will raise much more!)

CYCLE FOR SAM 2 - THE SEQUEL

Spring 2009 will see a cycle challenge from Bristol to Belfast. Our top corporate supporters Madabout will set off with their cohort from Bristol and cycle their way to Belfast, picking up a second Belfast cohort to join them in cycling the final stretch from Dublin to Belfast.

GET LOCKED UP FOR SAM!

This new event will be taking place in 2009. Volunteers for this event will be ‘arrested’ for being kind people with big hearts and be hauled away to the mystery venue where they will be given the opportunity to raise their own bail money from family, friends and business associates.

Typically, volunteers will be business owners and others with enough contacts to raise bail. The participants can either volunteer themselves or be nominated by a colleague or acquaintance. SAM will then call them to confirm their participation and inform them of the bail amount which they will have to raise (we are actively encouraging people to get pledges towards their bail money prior to the event).

PLEASE HAVE A COFFEE FOR SAM!

A number of coffee mornings will be running across the province in aid of SAM.

Why not invite some of your friends over and have a cuppa and raise some money for research into Muscular Dystrophy… You can also help us by spreading the word about the campaign to all those who attend your event.

We are happy to send along a member of the committee to tell you a little about the charity and about why we are raising money for this worthy cause.
